Performs welds on structural and miscellaneous steel and other items as assigned.
Performs grinding operations as required.
Maintains proper housekeeping of the work area assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None required.

Knowledge of welding techniques and use of related equipment (welder, wire feeder and grinder) tools and material. Must be thoroughly familiar with the safety precautions of the trade.
Knowledge of math, particularly the addition and subtraction of fractions.
Skill in following oral instructions.
Ability to stay mentally alert at all times.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Prior welding experience. Graduation from an accredited welding school preferred.
Successful completion of a High School math course.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Must have the ability to understand oral instruction in English.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Must be able to perform basic math functions, particularly the addition and subtraction of fractions.
REASONING ABILITY: Must be able to think logically in the performance of routine functions.
